Woodfield Clubhouse Project

Project Update

February 14, 2012:

Woodfield and Hunters Pointe Residents,
In December 2011 the community was asked to vote on the building of a new clubhouse for the WRA. Although the vote did receive majority support from the community we fell 14 votes short of the super majority that was required for it to pass. The WRA Board has decided to move forward with another vote later this year, but before we do we would like to get some feedback from the community. We take your feedback very seriously and will use it as a guide as we move forward on the clubhouse project.
This is a very short survey and we appreciate you taking the time to complete it. Click this link to go directly to the survey: Clubhouse Vote - Follow-up Survey

December 5th 2011:

Be on the lookout for the Clubhouse Ballot and Fiscal Meeting Notice arriving by mail around 12/5 - 12/6.
Here are some of the documents that are in the mailer:
  1. Letter to Homeowners
  2. Proxy Ballot and Fiscal Meeting Notice

November 30th 2011:

The Clubhouse Building Committee held the second open house. We had a great turnout. Thank you to everyone that came out. As a result of the open house, we have put together a pdf brochure that we are making available on our website (click here) and will be distributing to every mailbox in the neighborhood in the coming weeks. Be on the lookout for our next open house on December 11th.

November:

The Clubhouse Building Committee has received the initial estimate from our consultant builder. Based on this estimate we have modified the plans to exclude certain items to reduce the cost of the project within reason. We have been busy contacting every bank we can think of to find all the available financing options.

After lots of deliberation we have decided to go with a modified version of Option 1 plans. The following 3 PDF files (clickable images in this section) represent the choices that the Clubhouse Building Committee and the WRA Board have decided on. These drawings as well as the financials and voting procedures will be explained to the community in detail at the November open house.

We will continue to send out communications on a regular basis to keep the community informed of our progress. In order for this project to succeed, and for us to break ground, we will need to obtain a super majority vote from the community. If you would like to get involved please don't hesitate to contact the Clubhouse Building Committee at wrabuildingcommittee@gmail.com.

September 2011:

September 25th, 2011: Clubhouse Building Committee held the 1st open house.
We had a great turnout and even better feedback! Click this announcement to see more information and a list of FAQs from the open house.

August 2011:

The Clubhouse Building Committee has been working long hours to complete the initial set of drawings detailing two options for our clubhouse which will be presented at the next open house. The first option is to completely tear down the existing structure and build a brand new facility in its place making use of the surrounding area. The second option is to expand and remodel our existing structure while still attempting to bring in a few additional elements which would benefit our community. Below you will find links to see these drawings in great detail. Please keep in mind that these are just architectual sketches and elevation drawings and are not 3D renderings.

Our next step is to submit these drawings to a couple of builders for an estimate. This would provide us with a good ballpark figure that will help us determine our next steps as well as proceed in researching our financing options.
